Vivid Sydney 2017
Vivid, Sydney’s annual winter festival, is set to dazzle the city this May and June. Brilliant lighting displays come to life after dark at some of the city’s famous hotspots. The light installations are paired with fantastic soundtracks. Some of them even revolve around specific themes.
Vivid Sydney, now in its 8th year, attracted 2.31 million viewers from all over the world in 2016. It’s becoming one of the world’s most exciting creative events. With large-scale lighting installations, performances, music, and creative themes, Vivid turns the city into a vibrant and colourful canvas.

This year, Vivid Sydney will run from May 27 to June 18. Catch Vastitude at Circular Quay, Harbour Lights at the harbour, and Attune – the interactive light garden at Circular Quay. Don’t forget to check out the Fountain at Martin Place. It’s an extraordinary live sculpture, celebrating the human life cycle.
The Wormhole Galaxy at Walsh Bay and the Gondwana Light Lab at Chatswood are other futuristic installations that will blow your mind away.
Take a walk around the harbour after dark and wait for the beautiful displays to come on. If you don’t like to be a part of the crowds, take a cruise around Sydney Harbour. You’ll get to see flashes of light and bursts of sound from the comfort of a yacht. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery as you kick back with a beverage in hand.

The bar is set higher each year and this year’s events will be nothing short of spectacular. The fireworks, the entertainment, and the interactive features will mesmerise you and leave you in awe. Don’t forget to take your camera along. You’ll find many photo opportunities as you cruise along the harbour.
Sensational Sydney Cruises will take you on a two-hour night cruise from Walsh Bay on board a luxury 52-foot yacht. Sail along the harbour’s calm waters and see the beautiful monuments light up the sky.
The motor cruiser is decked with festive LED lights. They automatically change colour as the vessel enters different parts of the harbour. The yacht accommodates small groups of 16. You’ll get to savour a selection of mouth-watering canapés and enjoy unlimited beverages as you enjoy the magical lights and sounds that surround you.
The cruise disembarks at 8:30 pm, so you’ll have plenty of time to get home and enjoy a good night’s rest before heading to work the next day.
